METHODIST CHURCH

THE AVONDALE CIRCUIT The quarterly meeting of the Avondale circuit of the Methodist Church was held this week at Henderson. There was an attendance of about 40 representatives of the churches in the circuit. A satisfactory increase in senior and junior members of the circuit was reported. Arrangements were reported to have been made for a student to work for three months at the New Lynn Church and it was stated that the circuit had contributed during the year £650 for home and foreign missions, and £'loo to the Orphanages' Fund. Mr. W. Astley was re-appointed circuit collector for the orphanages. Harvest thanksgiving services will be held in March. Messrs. J, E, Astley and S. Klcoat were re-appointcd circuit stewards for the corning year and Messrs. J. Ji. Astley and R. Thomas were chosen as delegates to the Methodist Conference to bo hold in Wellington.
