GARDEN LOVERS

WAITEMATA SOCIETY The points competition for members of the Waitemata Horticultural Society was held in the Returned Soldiers' Hall at Northcote pn Monday evening. The awards of the judge, Mr. D. P. O'Leary, were as follows: —Mrs. A. E. Hardin" and iJiss J. Geddes, 10 points; Mesdames A. R. Shutes, A. Oldbury. H N. Leefo, Miss R. Wilson, 9 points, Mrs. J. Crombie, Miss L. Shutes and Dr. C. W. Parr, 8 points. The exhibits of Mrs. A. Oldbury and that of Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Leefe were equal in the competition for the best collection of six varieties of cut flowers, arranged in six vases, one variety in each, A talk on the plants of North China was given by Dr. C. W. Parr.
