CHISHOLM—HOMiOCKS BRIDE IN WHITE ORGANZA MAIDS WEAR PICTURE FROCKS Of interest to a large circle of relatives and friends was the wedding at St. Mary's Cathedral yesterday afternoon of Joan Ruth, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Horrocks, St. George's Bay Road, Parnell, to John Hewlings, second son of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Chisholm, Forest Hill Road, Henderson. 'lhe Rev. J. Cable officiated and the wedding music was played by Mr. Edgar Randall, The church was simply decorated with sott green palms, white agapanthus and white Christinas lilies. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful gown of white organza embroidered in an all-over design of starred white flowers. The corsage was lashioned with a softly rounded neck-lino and leg o' mutton sleeves which tapered over the hands. The skirt, with its soft bouffant folds, fell gracefully into a lung circular train, over which cascaded her veil oi fine white tulle, arranged in soft folds under a headdress of white starred agapanthus and gypsophila. These flowers were also featured in her bouquet. Bridesmaids in White Attending the bride were Miss Nancy Horrocks, Miss Deirdre Williams, Miss Mary Jackson and Miss Clierry Mahon. They made a charming group in picture frocks of white silk organza over white taffetas. The corsages were fashioned with short sleeves and high neck-lines edged with soft roulettes, while the very full skirts were gathered into a high waistline. Their head-dresses were replicas of the bride's, in white starred agapanthus and gypsophila, and they carried armlets of these two flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Harry Upton, as best man, and by Mr. Peter Horrocks, Mr. Hal Newcomb and Mr. Michael Chisholm as groomsmen. The Wedding Reception Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, where the reception rooms and a large marquee were beautifully decorated with white flowers and soft green foliage. Mrs. Horrocks received her guests wearing a graceful frock of petrel blue satin-backed suede with matching blue bead embroideries, and a picture hat of petrel blue straw with a slightly rolled brim. Her bouquet was of pale golden roses. Ihe bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Chisholm, was in a draped frock of navy blue craquelle with French faggotting, relieved at the neck-line with white beading. Her navy Ballibuntal straw hat was finished with small blue and white flowers, and she carried a bouquet of mixed summer roses. . Near relatives of the bride and bridegroom present included: —Mrs. H. Dry den, wearing a frock oi black crepe suede with amethyst and green bead embroideries, and a black picture hat with ospreys; Mrs. J. Mahon, in navy blue georgette relieved with white and a wide-brimmed navy blue hat; Mrs. Darwin Cooke, navy blue and white patterned silk ensemble and navy Ballibuntal Breton sailor hat; Mrs W. G. Rutherford, black wool georgojtte suit relieved with white, and a blafk straw picture hat; Miss F. Nurse (lnvercargill), parchment Chantillv lace over soft brown silk, and, a matching brown picture hat; Miss Beverley Horrocks, navy blue flamisol silk froqk and a small navy blue hat.
