The remainder of the- prisoners will be sent to Valencia. The new projectiles, the most devastating used in the war. gashed everything within a radius of 500 yards of the point of impact. They splintered trees, tore but the fronts of houses, and inflicted frightful wounds. Military experts noted that they made only a very shallow indentation in the ground. Hidden Government guns trapped and wiped out a rebel truck convoy on a narrow mountain road near Teruel. The icy track was too narrow to allow of the .trucks being turned to make their escape. They were literally blown from the ledge along which they had been travelling.
