BURGLARY AT PAEROA
HOUSE ENTERED TWICE SUM OF MONEY STOLEN [bt telegraph—own correspondent] PAEROA, Monday A further burglary was committed in Paeroa during the week-end, when the residence of Mr. H. C. Parsons, in Kennedy Street, was broken into, apparently on two occasions in the same night. When Mr. Parsons returned home in the evening about 9.30 o'clock he discovered that his house had been entered and a search made, but nothing was missing. On the following morning he discovered that the house had again been entered and a wallet containing n considerable sum of money taken from, the pocket of his coat which he had hung up in his bedooom on retiring. Tfye wallet was later found outside the house, but the contents were missing. Jenkins, of Hawker Street, Wellington. Mr. Jenkins, with his wife and family, was away on holiday at the time. The spectacle which greeted him on his return was, to use his own words, "simply appalling and really had to be seen to be believed. The whole place had been turned inside out."
