EGGS THROWN AT BAND
EPISODE AT.ONEHUNGA YOUTHS BEFORE THE COURT Charged with mischief, and offensive behaviour, two youths, Andrew Patrick Brown and Roy Graham Winkle, both aged 18, appeared yesterday in the Onehunga Police Court before Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, S.M. The charge was a sequel to an incident at an open-air recital by the Onehunga Citizens' Band on December 5. Sergeant S. A. Brown said that eggs and other missiles had been thrown at the members of the band. Many oi them landed in the rotunda and the performance was stopped. A bandsman s uniform was damueed and had to be replaced at a cost of £5. Winkle was represented by Mr. W. R. Tuck. Both youths pleaded guilty and were placed on probation for six months and ordered to c °nie up tor sentence if called upon. They were ordered to pay £1 9s 9d each for the damage to the uniform and 1/s costs. Two other boys who were similarly charged were dealt with by the iil<lfgis~ trate in the Juvenile Court.
