CRASH INTO TRUCK
MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED TRAGIC END TO HOLIDAY TOUR A Papatoetoe motor-cyclist. Mr.;-//'. Charles Fraset Rose, aged 26. a painter, . was killed about four o'clock on Saturday morning, when he crashed into * stationary motor transport truck near Slippery Creek, Prury. At the tiih® of the accident he was returning homo after a motor-cycle tour of the Dominion with Mr. Norman Danes, of Cecil Road, Epsom. , Mr. Hose was found underneath the truck with a deep wound pn the side of the head. Dr. Warren Young, of Papakura, was called, but Mr. Rose was already dead. The driver of the truck had the frcgit wheel jacked up changing a tyre when the motor-cyclist crashed into it with *7' x such force that it pushed the truck ;; the jack. Beyond the buckling of the end of the iron chassis the truck not damaged. The motor-cycle, however, r was wrecked. The body was# taken to a St. .John ambulance. An inquest was « I opened later in the day for iiurposp* of identification by the PapakuYa district coroner, Mr. T. F. Suell, und aiiv. s journed sine die.
