9fR LOUIS BEALE'S POST FORMERLY IN DOMINION British "Wireless RUGBY. Jan. 6 Sir Louis Beale has been appointed Commissioner-General for the British section of the New York World's Fair, to bo held in 1939. Sir Louis was British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand from 1926-28.
Sir Louis Beale, who took up his position as British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand in April, 1926, had held a similar post at Vancouver and was appointed to succeed Mr. Noel Elmslie in New Zealand. After considerable business experieuce both in the United Kingdom and in Canada, early in 1915 ho accepted a position in the forest
branch of tho Department of Lands attached to the Government of British Columbia. In Islß he was engaged on a special mission to the United Kingdom and France as timber Trade Commissioner for his Government, and in February, 1919, entered the Trade Commissioner service, being appointed to tho post at Winnipeg. In April, 1923. his headquarters were transferred to Vancouver, .from which centre he continued to control the activities of the Trade Commissioner's post at Winnipeg.
In addition to wide commercial experience, Sir Louis enjoys the reputation of being one of the most efficient and most popular officers in the Ti'ade Commissioner service.
