UNEMPLOYED WOMEN
POSITION NOT SERIOUS STATEMENT BY MINISTER, [BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday Commenting on the difficulties being encountered in obtaining girls and women for domestic service and other classes -of employment, the Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, said the number of women who participated in the Government's Christmas bonus to the unemployed would bo under 100 for the whole of the Dominion.
Mr. Armstrong added that there might be factory workers who were temporarily unemployed because of the holidays, but the position had not reached the stage where they were worrying the department.
