PERSECUTION CONTINUES * ASSERTION BY POPE VATICAN CITY, Dec. 26 The Pope vigorously attacked the German church policy when he received the Cardinals He said there was real and actual religious persecution in Germany, in spite of efforts to present a contrary impression. UNFOUNDED STATEMENTS GERMAN ALLEGATION BERLIN, Dec. 20 The German official news agency accuses the Pope of fostering hatreds and making unfounded statements. It is learned that a number of pastors recently released will only enjoy liberty during the Christmas holidays, after which they will be ordpred to return to prison. Bishop Niemoeller's request to spend Christmas out of prison was refused.
