MAN AND SCHOOLGIRL NEW SOUTH WALES STORMS CRICKET MATCH FATALITY SYDNEY, Dec. 20 During severe storms on the north coast two persons were killed by ningMr. John Brewer, aged 29, a journalist, was playing cricket at Casino when a blinding flash struck him and two team-mates down. Mr. Brewer was killed outright and the others were stunned. Where Mr. Brewer was standing, a hole a foot deep and throe feet lone was cut in the ground. Ivy Nicholas, aged 13, was killed at Murwillumbah in remarkable circumstances while listening to the wireless. It is believed that when lightning struck the aerial the current ran down into the set and leaped across on to the springs of a converted motor seat used as a lounge, which the child was touching.
