DANCING AND CARDS

FUNCTION AT ONETANGI A dance and card evening was held by the Onetangi Ratepayers and Residents' Association in the Onetangi Hall on Saturday night. The chairman of the association, Mr. Davis, presided. The object of the function was to raise funds for the planting of trees on the Onetangi Beach, also for erecting swings and providing general playing equipment for the children. There was an attendance /if over 120 people. The'successful, card winners were Mr. W. Hill, of Ostend. and Mr. W. Taylor, of Onetangi. Dancing competitions were won by Miss J. Butler and Mr. T. O'Brien. The supper arrangements were in charge of Mesdames L. Ashwin, O. Burton and 15. Griffiths.
