MIDGET CAR RACING

TWO AUSTRALIANS ARRIVE Two of the leading midget car drivers of Australia, Mr. G. Beavis, of Melbourne, holder of the midget car championship of Victoria, and Mr. A. Tuckett, of Victoria, former holder of the title, arrived by the Awatea yesterday on an extended trip to New Zealand. They will compete in Auckland shortly. Keen public interest in the sport, which is comparatively new, was being taken in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, the drivers said. It was usual to race midget cars, and also motorcycles, in the one programme, although in different events, and the sport was proving extremely popular.
