OBITUARY
MRS. T. A. WILLIAMS [by telegraph—owx correspondent] WHANGAREI, Monday The death occurred suddenly yesterday of Mrs. Catherine Williams in her 60th" year. Born at Karamea, north of W^tport, Mrs. Williams came to this district 26 years ago. She married Mr. T. A. Williams, until recently bidding inspector of Whangarei. Gardening was one of her chief interests and she was an expert in citrus fruit growing. She is survived by her husband and one son and two daughters.
MR. C. LALLY [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] TAURAXGA, Monday The death has occurred of Mr. Caleb Lallv, of Te Puke, in his 86th year. Mr. Lallv was born in County Galway, Ireland, and reached Xew Zealand on January 29, 1875. After residing at Morrinsville, Katikati and Taurajiga, he took up land at Te Puke in 1871, settling on a property on Xo. 2 Rr.Td, and had resided there ever since. Mr. Lallv was one of tho earliest dairy farmers at Te Puke and he supplied the first cheese factory. In addition to his Te Puke farm. Mr. Lallv took tip and developed a block of 550 acres at Bangiuru, on which he fattened cattle for about 40 years. He was one of the earliest members of the Te Puke Road Board, of which he was chairman for a long period, and the Tauranga County Council, of which he was a member for 46 years. Mr. Lallv was coroner at Te Puke for 26 years. He is survived by Mrs. Lallv, one son and one daughter.
