TEACHERS TO MARRY
TECHNICAL COLLEGE STAFF FUNCTION AT HAMILTON The impending marriages of throo members of the staff of the .Hamilton Technical High School, two of whom arc resigning their positions at the end of the month, provided the occasion for an enjoyable function in the collogo common room last week, when the principal, Mr. W. Fraser, and staff gathered to extend good wishes to their colleagues and to present them with wedding presents as small tokens of esteem. Those resigning aro Miss Doris Osmers, who after her marriage in a few days will reside at Taupo, and Miss Margery Thompson, who will live at Wellington after her marriage next month. Mr. F. C. Forster, who is to be married this month, will remain on the staff of the college and will live at Hamilton. Presents from the rest of the stafi included a beaten pewter firescreen to Miss Osmers, a case of cutlery to Miss Thompson, and a casserolo and stand to Mr. Forster. In making the presentations, Mr. Fraser paid tribute to the work of Miss Osmers as head of the home science department. She had been longer on the staff than any other woman teacher present and would be greatly missed. Mr. Kraser also praised Miss Thompson, whose work as head commercial mistress was _ reflected in the keen demand by businessmen for shorthand typists trained at the college. In regard to Mr. Forster, said Mr Fraser, it was gratifying to realise that as an old boy of the college he had been on the staff for the last two years and would remain. Misses Osmers and Thompson and ilr. Forster replied.
