STEAMER VAN REES
LAST AUCKLAND VISIT DUTCH SHIP REPLACED + One of the two ships to inaugurate the South Pacific Line's service from Dutch East Indies and Eastern ports to New Zealand, the steamer Van Rees is making her last visit. to Auckland before she is replaced by a larger steamer, the Swartenhondt. The Van Rees has paid several calls to Auckland and has- become a popular passenger vessel. She is at present discharging sugar at Chelsea and will move to Western Wharf this morning, sailing in tho afternoon for Wellington, Sydney and Batavia. Singaporo is usually the terminal port for tho Van Roes, but in this voyage she will bo laid up for overhaul at Batavia. The new motor-slnp Maetsiiyckor, the second unit in tho service,, was scheduled to reach Batavia from New Zealand yesterday. She will receive overhaul at the Javanese port and tho Swartenhondt will replace her for one voyage before taking up tho Van Rees' programme. The Swartenhondt, which is duo here from Saigon on her first voyage on January 12, was built at Amsterdam iu 1922 and is of 5084 tons gross register.
