SURF LIFE-SAVING
RESUSCITATION RULES AUCKLAND STEP DISAPPROVED [by TELEGRAPH —Pitl'lSS association] WELLINGTON, Friday A meeting of the council of the New Zealand Surf Life-Saving Association to-night disapproved the action of the Auckland association in deciding to ndopt Australian rules for resuscitation drill, as it is contrary to the decision reached by tho delegates at the annual conference and contrary to tlio New Zeaiand handbook. Au Auckland letter stated that it was proposed to give the rules a trial and acquaint the council with the results. Members expressed the opinion that Auckland would have been better advised to await the next conference and obtain a majority decision to change the rules.
Tho chairman, Mr. P. F. Coira, advised that probably two Australian teams would visit New Zealand during the Centennial Exhibition to participate in the New Zealand championships, which would be held at Lyall Bay. It was decided that tho events at the New Zealand championships at Christchurch on January 22 and 23 bo the samo as last year, entries to close on January C- It was decided to adviso associations that tho selection of a New Zealand team fo- Australia would not necessarily be restricted to seniors.
