PARENTS' WELCOME

MR. AND MRS. P. NATHAN ENJOYABLE COCKTAIL PARTY GUESTS AT OPEN-AIR FUNCTION To welcome their son, Mr. Peter Nathan, and his bride, -who were married in London at the end of September, Mr. and Mrs, Charles Nathan gave an enjoyable cocktail party at their home in Arney Road, yesterday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nathan returned to the Dominion last Friday and are to make their home in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nathan received their guests on the lawn at the foot of the garden. Mrs. Nathan wore a black lacquered cocktail coatee and black skirt with a black hat. Mrs. Peter Nathan was in a black floral patterned frock and wide brimmed black hat.

The terraced garden with its flower beds, lawns and borders brilliant with summer blooms looked very picturesque and lovely, and. many of the guests spent much time walking around or sitting in the shade and admiring its beauty. An open marquee had been erected near the tennis court, and refreshments and savouries were served there. The band from the Blind Institute played enjoyable music.
