PARUA BAY HOTEL

REMOVAL OF LICENCE TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Wednesday Permission for tho temporary removal of the acommodation licence of the Parua Bay Hotel from the old site to an acquired dwelling was granted to the licensee, P. Chaplin, by the Marsden Licensing Committee at its adjourned annual meeting to-day. The hotel was burned clown some months ago and since then there has been no provision other than a bar. For the owner of the licence, Mr. D. L. Ross stated that tho erection of a permanent building on the old creamery site at Parua Bay beyond tho one-mile limit would be begun. The present application was to remove tho licence to a. temporary site near tho old site. Mr. S. Clayton Thorne. who appeared for certain residents, said there would be serious objection from residents in the locality to the erection of the now building on the old •creamery site. The chairman, Mr. G. *N. Morris, S.M., said the application proposed a minimum of accommodation and meals, and although not up to the usual standard of country hotels, would meet requirements in the meantime.
