(Received November 21, 6.15 p.m.) "WASHINGTON, Nov. '2O
The Roman Catholic Hierarchy at the annual meeting decided to write to the Catholic leaders in Spain and Germany denouncing the policies of the Governments of those countries toward religion. The letter to Germany declared that religious-minded people throughout the world were outraged by the Satanic resourcefulness of the loaders of modern Paganism in Germany and by the incredible excesses committed by them.
"But the faith still lives aiul will live forever," said the letter, "and finally it will triumph in spite of the present inhuman' struggle." The letter to Spain said: "Clever propaganda maliciously used by the proponents of atheism and chaos has beclouded the real facts, in Spain the Church has been outrageously persecuted because she dared to stand witness to the Christian principles of a great people."
