LANDS DEPARTMENT

AUCKLAND STAFF CHANGES Several changes in the staff of the Lands and Deeds Department have taken place, affecting the Auckland

office. Mr. R. F. Baird, district lands registrar at Napier, has been appointed to that position at Auckland, to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement early this year of Mr. W. Johnston. The position of assistant-district lands registrar, formerly occupied bv Mr. C. R. Keeble, who had also carried out the duties of deputy-lands registrar for some time, has been allotted to Mr. W. Mcßride. formerly district land: registrar at Blenheim' The appointments of Mr. R. M. Monteath as assistant-lands registrar at Christchurch, and Mr. J. E. Aubin as chief clerk at Dunedin are included among several transfers on promotion. A farewell was tendered to Mr. Keeble ; who had completed approximately 45 years' service in the department.
