THE REV. W. J. GOW 'The death lias occurred of a veteran Presbyterian minister, the .Rev. \Y. J. GoUv, of Papatoetoe, in his Sotli year. Mr. Gow was educated at the Christohurch Boys' High School and Otafro University. He joined tho staff of tho Bank of Now South Wales at Hokitikvi at tlie age of 15 and was for 11 ycaijs in the service of the bankbefore (entering the ministry of the Presbyterian Church, his first parish being Jfyeefton. Mr. Gow retired some •years ag}o and had lived since 1924 at Papatoetoe. Mr. J. 13. Gow. of Opotiki is a brother and Mrs. J. P. Murrav' of Papatoetoe, and Mrs. F. Drury, of Opotiki, aro sisters. Mr. Gow is' survived by -.0110 son and three daughters. MRS. THOMAS HEATH „ One of tihe pioneers of the Dominion, Mrs Eliza Mary Ann Heath, wife of Mr. Thomas Heath, has died at her home in Tuarangi Road. Grey Lvnn, at the age of 80. Eight of Mrs. death's family of 12, and Mr. Heath, are still living. In addition there are grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mr;;. Heath celebrated their diamond wedding in 19.'33. MRS. AXFRED PARKINSON [ijy TELEGIi.VTH —OWN correspondent] OPOTIKI, Friday Tho death has occurred at Opotiki of one of the earliest district pioneers. Mrs. Alfred Parkinson, at tho age of 80. She arrived in Auckland 74 rears ago in the sailing ship Annie Wilson from London. Seven years afterward she came to Opotiki, where she resided for the rest of her life. In 1873 she married Mr. Alfred Parkinson, who was then serving in the militia. Mrs. Parkinson had lived longer in Opotki than any living European woman, and she could vividly recall the old war days when the residents lived in constant fear of attack.
