LABOURER ACQUITTED Tho hearing of charts of breaking iiiul entering ili<' warehouse of Paramount Frocks, Limited, and stealing a cheque book was continued in the Supreme Court yesterday before Mr. Justice Callan and a jury, against a labourer, Henry Samuel Johnson, aged 31 r. Hubble represented the Crown and .Mr. Noble appeared for accused. The evidence against accused was started on Tuesday. Detective \Y. Slater read a statement bv accused saying that he had' found tiie cheque book in Myers Park. He did not know anything about the burglary at the warehouse. Mr. Noble said there was not sufficient proof that accused had been connected with the burglary. After a retirement of an hour and aqunrter, the jury brought in a verdict of not guilty on eaelr count.
