MAINLY FAIR TO- FINE SHOWERY ON EAST COAST The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, were as follows:—New' Zealand is still located between a rather deep cyclone centred far to the north-cast- and a complex low pressure area covering the Western Tasman Sea, Pressure is high and changing little oyer the Dominion. Th» forecast is for south-easterly to easterly winds prevailing north of Westport and Kaikoura, light to moderate i mainly, but strong in parts of Cook Strait and in places between Cape Palliser and East Cape; elsewhere variable with north-easterly to northerly winds predominating and freshening in the far south. Seas rather rough in parts of the Cook Strait area and the east coast of the North Island; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong northerly winds and moderate to rather rough seas. The weather for the most part is likely to be fair to fine, but cloudy and with isolated showers or misty rain in the east coast areas and some rain developing also in tJie far south-west and south. Temperatures mild. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST MAINLY FAIR TO FINE The Government meteorologist issued to the Hf.ram) last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: —Light to v moderate winds mainly between south-east and northeast. The weather is likely to be for the most part fair to fine, but some scattered showers or misty rain are possible in the far north. Temperatures mild. Seas slight to moderate. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —After a dull morning, conditions were sunny and fine for the remainder of the day, the wind being light from the south. The maximum temperature-was 64 degrees and the minimum 5-5 degrees. Last night war cloudy but fine with light wind from the north-north-east. The barometer began to rise in the evening.
