DANGEROUS DRIVING
FARMER'S LICENCE ENDORSED [fjiom OUll OWN cobkkhvomjbnt] HAMILTON. Tuesday "The offence of passing other ears on corners is common 011 country roads and requires some deterrent,'' said Mr. S. L. I'aterson, S.M., in the Hamilton Police Court, when fining Arthur Charles Cooper, farmer, Wuitetuna (Mr. W. J. King), ill and costs for driving in a manner that might be dangerous to the public. Evidence was given by a traffic inspector, Robert Metcalfe, that he saw defendant trying to overtake a lorry 011 a corner on the Raglan deviation. A collision with witness' car was narrowly averted. Defendant said that he bad ample visibility and that he could have dropped behind the lorry at any moment. The magistrate held that defendant was in the wrong. In addition to fining him, ho endorsed his driver's licence.
