WANGANUI HARBOUR BOARD HIGHER CHARGES AND WAGES • [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] WANGANUI, Tuesday Bising costs of administration were reflected in increased charges and expenditure decided on by the Wanganui Harbour Board at a meeting to-day. All shipping dues and pilotage charges are to be raised by 10 per cent, and it was decided that, owing to the new industrial conditions operating, the services of another pilot are necessary. Another man is to be engaged at a salary of £312 a year, increasing to £350, with a house allowance of £6O. It was also decided that the salaries of five members of the staff bo increased to tho extent of £l7O a year. Charges for services of the tug are to be at the rate of £ls for each occasion the vessel is used, instead of £l2 ]os, as formerly.
