(Christchurch) won the Wellington ladies' provincial championship at Heretaunga to-day, defeating Mrs. Sloan Morpeth (Australia), 6 up and 4 ; to.play. They halved the Bert and Miss Fleming lay dormy 5. _The end came when Miss Fleming Played a magnificent shot off the 14th to within 2ft. of the pin. Mrs. MorPeth was short and took 4 for the hole. .The Heretaunga trophy was won by Mrs, M. H. Godby (Christchurch), who heat Miss J. Brqdie (Wellington) in the semi-final, 1 up, and then beat Miss S.
