LONG LOST AIRMAN

SIR C. KINGSFORD SMITH BROTHER TO- LEAD SEARCH (Received October 13. 5.50 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 12 Mr R. H. Kingsford Smith, brother of the famous airman, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, sailed by the Mariposa to-day. He will help to direct an expedition in a search for Sir Charles in the Malayan jungle. He is convinced that his brother is still alive. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and his co-pilot, Mr. T. Pothybridge, were lost when flying from England to Australia in November, ]9:JS. Their machine was last seer? over the Bay of Bengal, 150 miles from land. Leave to swear to the death of Sir Charles was given in the Probate Court in Sydney in March, 39.16.
