ATTACK ON WARSHIP

SEARCH FOR SUBMARINE MEDITERRANEAN INCIDENT (Received October' 6, 1.5 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 5 The search for the submarine which attacked the British destroyer Basilisk off Spain proceeded without success all night. It will probably be. abandoned to-day. A message from Berlin says a semiofficial commentator stated: "This without doubt is a new act of Bolshevist piracy. Moscow is doing everything to provoke another incident in view of the negotiations on the Spanish question." A Paris despatch says the newspaper Le Jour states that, aggression against a British warship can only serve the designs of Moscow, which has every interest in upsetting the tranquility of the Mediterranean.
