WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
WAIKATO FEDERATION PAST PRESIDENT HONOURED [fhom oua own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday There was an attendance of 35 delegates at the biennial council meeting of the Waikato Federation of Women's Institutes in Hamilton to-day. The president, Mrs. J. AYard Chapman, presided. A cordial welcome was extended to the delegates by the Mayor, Mr. J. 11. Fow. The president paid a tribute to the work of the past president, Mrs. A. M. Robson, of Pirongia, who had occupied the office for five years. The institute's gold service badge was presented to her by the Mayor. A hand-worked leather purse was also handed to Mrs. Robson by Mrs. Chapman. The financial report, submitted by the treasurer, Mrs. T. Chisholm, of Huntly, disclosed a satisfactory credit balance. Mrs. Chapman reported that she had visited 22 institutes in the last six months, and that new institutes had been formed at Pukemiro, Whitiora and Kihikihi. The drama festival held in April had proved a great success in every way.
