MUSICAL FESTIVAL
CAMBRIDGE COMPETITIONS T INCREASED INTEREST SHOWN [from our own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE. Tuesday Increased enthusiasm and much ' larger audiences than in previous yearshave characterised the loth annual festival of the Cambridge Competitions Society, which opened yesterday and is being continued during the present week. The festival Was officially opened last evening by the Mayor of Cambridge. Mr. C. H. Priestley, who paid a compliment to the members of the committee on their zeal in keeping the society going through difficult years. It was satisfactory to know that there had been such a great revival. A welcome to adjudicators, competitors and the public was extended b\ the president, Mr. A. G. Boyce.
