ADMINISTRATOR'S POST THE DELAY IN APPOINTMENT [by telegram—special reporter] "WELLINGTON, Wednesday The appointment of an Administrator of Western Samoa, which has been hanging fire since 1935, is apparently still some distance from decision by the Government. The matter was raised in the House of Representatives several days ago by the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. A. Hamilton, who pointed out that for such an important position to b 0 held by any person for a long, period in an acting capacity was not in accordance with practice. " The circumstances in Western Samoa are quite satisfactory at present," the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, replied to-day, "and the Government will consider the question of a permanent appointment at the earliest c6nvenient date."
