PACIFIC COAST TRADE
NORWEGIAN COMPANY AUSTRALIAN SERVICE BEGUN EXTENSION TO DOMINION A new Pacific cargo service linking the Pacific Coast with Australia and New Zealand is being opened by the Norwegian Klaveness Line, which will employ two 12} knot motor-ships, the Corneville and the Pleasantville. The two vessels will maintain a monthly service between San Francisco and Sydney. It is understood that the new trade will later be extended to Auckland and "Wellington. The Corneville left San Francisco a fortnight ago on the line's first southbound trip to Sydney, and she will be followed a month later by. the Pleasantville. The whole of the Pacific Coast will be served by the new service. It is possible that additional vessels will be placed in the trade if the venture proves successful.. • -
The Klaveness Line owns a fleet of 20 motor-ships and one steamer,.-and is one of the most important Norwegian shipping companies. ; It conducts' services to various parts of the world, but chiefly to the United States.
