FAIR TO FINE AT FIRST ANOTHER CHANGE LATER The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the meteorologist, were ag follows:—'The recent depression ha* passed away eastward, and an anticyclone is now moving from the North Tasman Sea on to "the Dominion. \ fresh westerly depression is, however , advancing from South-eastern Australia on to the South Tasman Sea. The forecast is for south-westerly to southcrly winds, strong at first on parts of the East Coast and in the Cook Strait area, but otherwise light to moderate veering to westerly or north-westerly about and south of Cook Strait and later freshening. Seas rather rough to rough south of East Cape and north of ' Farewell Spit, but decreasing tomorrow; 'elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate southerly winds generally at first, but veering soon to freshening north-westerlies in the south- - ern portion; seas moderate but rising in the southern portion. A few passing showers arc likely at first between Cook Strait and East Cape and in the faV north. Otherwise fair to fine. A renewal of unsettled conditions and rain is probable later, however, in the western and far southern portions of the South Island and gradually extending northward. Temperatures cold, with many frosts to-night, but becoming milder to-morrow. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST FAIR TO FINE AND MILD / The Government meteorologist, issued to the Heh Ann last evening tbs following special forecast for the Auckland . Province: —Light to moderate southerly winds becoming variable and later tending to northerly. A few isolated showers at first but the weather is likely to be mainly fair to fine. Temperatures becoming milder on Wednesday. Seas rather rough to rough at first on the west coast, otherwise moderate.
