PROMINENT VISITOR
SIR KELSO KING FARMHAND TO BUSINESS HEAD ■ * A prominent passenger by the Mariposa, which arrived at Auckland from Sydney yesterday, was Sir Kelso King, an Australian businessman, whose career started almost "0 years ago as a "jackaroo" on a Queensland pastoral station. His present visit is being made primarily to meet a daughter who is returning from England by way of Wellington. Sir Kelso is managing-director of the Mercantile Mutual Insurance Company, chairman of the Islorts Dock and Engineering Company, and is a director of the Australian Fertiliser Proprietary Company, ' Limited, the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society, and the Bank of New South Wales. All his spare time is spent in the interests of the Boy Scouts' Association and various welfare societies.
