AUCKLAND FRENCH CLUB
The monthly meeting of the. Auckland French Club was held last evening in the Penwomen's Club rooms. Mr. G. S. Coldham presided. Reference was made bv the president to the loss sustained by the club in the recent death of Mile. Le Houx, for many years a member of the committee and the club's librarian. The assembly stood as a mark of respect. The programme lor the evening, arranged by Madame P. Hall, proved most enjoyable. French songs were rendered by Miss G. Moody, and pianoforte solos by Miss W. Cooke. French readings were given bv Mine. L. Allen, M iss M. Pilkington and the president. An amusing and witty talk in French on "Auckland and its Environs" was given by "Mr. G. F. Joseph.
