CANADA AND BRITAIN
NEW TRADE TREATY British Wireless RUGBY, August 31 The trade agreement between Britain and Canada, signed in February, will come into operation to-morrow. Tho new treaty secures the free entry into Canada of about 30 per cent of imports from Britain and lower duties on goods accounting for about 40 per cent by value of the total imports of ■United Kingdom goods, including woollen and cotton textiles. There are also clauses to protect consumers against exploitation, and to prevent dumping.
