Wednesday The Hamilton Borough Council adopted a recommendation this evening that, subject to the Government's paying half and subject to the necessary legislation being enacted to enable the council to pay its share, arrangements should be made to fall into line with >tho other contributing local bodies in" granting an amount not exceeding £ISOO in all to the contractors to meet part of the loss incurred in connection with the construction of the Fairfield Bridge. It was also agreed that when the council's total liabilities had been ascertained arrangements should be made to raise a supplementary loan to meet the additional costs involved.
