THE SHERIDAN PLAYERS

DRAMA AND SONG EVENING Tho Sheridan Players met on Tuesday at the German Club rooms. Miss Nancy Warren arranged a varied programme. headed by a talk by Miss Joan Aire.y, MA., of Solway College, who spoke on "Realism and the Twentieth Century Theatre." Dealing briefly with such dramatists as Ibsen, Shaw, Galsworthy, Yeats, Barrio and Bottomley, Miss Airev traced tho rise of the natural school of-acting of today, and concluded her address with a reading from Gordon Bottomley's "Singing Sands." Mr. John Bond's bass-baritone solos delighted tho audience, and wero followed by songs by Miss D. Brown and Miss M. Mowbray. Three one-act plays, "Granny's Juliet," "In Port" and "Widows," wero presented bv tho following:—Misses Marjorio Kvle, Arawa Heron, Nancy Warren and Joy Purser, Messrs. Jack Spooner, Eric Salmon and Howard Newcombo.
