SPRINGBOKS AT EDEN PARK CHAN.CES OF THE ALL BLACKS Special pictures and comment dealing with the opening match of the South African Rugby football .teams tour of Now Zealand, played lit Julon Park on Saturday, are features ot the current issue of I'llK Weekly News, on sale to-day. Notable incidents of pin} caught by the camera depict Babrow grounding the ball under the score the Springboks' first try in New Zealand, and a fine action study of D. 11. Craven, Springbok scrum half and vice-captain, receiving the ball from a loose scrum. Further striking pictures among the six pages of illustrations published dealing with the match include two panoramic photographs of the crowd and playing field and a page of snapshots showing some of the novel methods spectators adopted to gain a good view of the game. Among the remaining illustrations are photographs ol' New Zealand ladies who were ■ presented to the King and Queen at Buckingham Palace, snapshots secured at a recent meet of the Pakuranga Hunt at Ardmoro and a group photograph of members,of the South African Rugby football team. "The South African strength is in the forwards," writes C. J. Oliver, special Rugby correspondent to r IHK \Vkkki.y News, in ''is article published in the athletic section this week. Oliver contends that the All Blacks will boat the Springboks, provided the New Zealand forwards are sufficiently strong to hold their opponents.
Features of the magazine pages include a special illustrated article on the forthcoming contest for the America's Cup.
