July 23 The Jerusalem correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says the British Government's decision to permit a further inquiry before the final adoption of the Palestine scherno lias pleased and relieved both Arabs and Jews. Both races will be able now to take counsel and to offer countor-suggcs-tions to partition. PARTITION OPPOSED SYRIAN NOTE OF PROTEST DAMASCUS, July 22 The Syrian Government has addressed a Note to the French High Commissioner expressing tho public's unanimous disapproval of the Palestine dismemberment scheme which, it says, bears the seeds of insurmountable difficulties. The Government asks that the Note be forwarded to the League of Nations.
