BRITAIN'S DEFENCE

THE ESTIMATES LABOUR NOT TO OPPOSE HEATED DISCUSSION FIRST By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received July 23, 8.5 p.m.) LONDON. July 22 The Parliamentary Labour Party has decided, in view of the international situation, not to vote against the Defence Estimates. This decision followed a heated discussion, at the close of which a serious split in the party was revealed by the vote of 45 to 3s. The minority included Mr. C. It. Attlce, leader of the party, and Messrs. Arthur Greenwood and 11. S. Morrison, who favoured voting against the Estimates.

One member told Mr. Attlce that if the Labour Party voted against rearmament ifc would tako 10 years to live it down.
