BOMB EXPLOSION
MYSTERY UNSOLVED MR. SINGER IN HOSPITAL PIECES OF METAL IN LEG Xo developments have been reported from the police investigations into the bomb explosion which caused injury to Mr. R. A. Singer just after he had entered the approach to his residence at 122 Grafton Road. City, early on Friday evening, and the matter remains :i mystery. A thorough investigation has been made with the material available, which includes a piece of tin which was possibly part of the canister of the bomb. It was discovered on the roof of a house two doors away from Mr. Singer's' residence. Already the exhibits discovered have been examined by the Government analyst. The only evidence available so far concerns materials used in the bomb and nothing has been revealed to point to the identity of the person responsible. Furthermore, the manner in which the explosion was precipitated is still the subject of numerous theories. .The most obvious one is that the bomb was thrown, which would involve the presence in the vicinity of the person responsible. However, there . are theories advanced that the bomb was through the use of a tripwire or that a time bomb was used. An X-ray examination yesterday revealed two pieces of metal in the wound in Mr. Singer's leg and last evening he was removed to a private hospital, where he will undergo an operation to-day for the removal of tho metal. *
