HEAT WAVE IN AMERICA FIFTY DEATHS REPORTED CROPS AFFECTED BY DROUGHT (Received July 9, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. July 8 Fifty people have died as the result of a heat wave extending from the Atlantic seaboard to-the Middle "West. A temperature of 110 degrees was registered in North Dakota and 91 degrees at New York with extreme humidity, producing much suffering. The crops in the Missouri and Ohio Biver Valley agricultural areas are reported to be suffering from the drought and harvesters are collapsing in the fields.
