THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE GOOD BUSINESS MAINTAINED .Although a comparatively heavy volume of business was maintained on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, there was again an irregular tono in the market. Only a few issues made any marked movements. Holders of Government loans camo forward more freely, but no business resulted. National Bank of New Zealand selling cm dividend were lower than the previous cum dividend transfer, while New Zealaiuls again eased slightly ou nil active market. The riso in Commercials of Australia was continued. Insurances again were strong. Recent firmness in Dominion Investment and Banking was reOected by three transfers at an advance. Auckland Gas cased, but moro were wanted at. the close. Devonport Ferry wero traded freely at lfftc rates. The recent steady rise in Colouial Sugars was carried further. Thero was strong buying support for M.K. Millinery, after levels had been raised in dealing. Metal issues were quiet. There wero slight fluctuations in Taranaki Oils, while levels for Wilsons Cement were weaker.
