PLANS FOR DOMINION SOME OUTSTANDING ARTISTS Forthcoming visits to Australia and New Zealand of many important theatrical companies/ and concert artists were announced yesterday by Mr. Arthur Tait, touring manager for J. C. Williamson, Limited, who arrived from Australia this week to make arrangements for several of the earlier productions. Mr. Tait's immediate work is to arrange the Dominion itinerary of General Platoff's Don Cossack Choir, which will open at Wellington on July 31. The company is coming direct to. New Zealand from London. Mr. Tait said an artistic treat would be provided by tho celebrated pianist, Ben 110 MoiseiwitsCh, who would shortly open his fifth tour of New Z^land. Mr. Tait said that Mr. Frank Tait had recently returned to Melbourne from abroad, and had brought with him tho principals of a company which was to play the revue, "Over She Goes." and the musical play, "Swing Along." Two players who j. C. Williamson's had engaged to plav in 0 big musical revue later in the year were Eddie Connor and Vernon Drake Another show which would attract great interest was the musical play "Balalaika," which had been playing to canacity houses in London for many months. For that production Hobert Halliday, who played Rod Shadow in the New York production of " Desert Song." and Margaret Adamas had been eri caged. Frank Neil's new revue company was to open a New Zealand tour at_ Auckland 011 August 2 in a presentation entitled "Red, White and Blue," said Mr. Tait. This company was probably the best of its class seen in New Zealand for 15 years. Mr. Tait confirmed the news that Lawrence Tibbctt and Kirstcn Flagstad, the Wagnerian soprano, had been engaged for tours next year.
