STRIKE SETTLED
WOOLHANDLERS AT BOSTON FEARS FOR IMPORT CENTRE (Received July 9, 5.5 p.m.) BOSTON, July S It was feared that the action of shipping lines in declaring an embargo on the wool trade through the city as a sequel to the woolhandlers' .strike, which started on Juno 29, would cost Boston her supremacy as America's largest wool-importing centre. The strike, however, has been settled, the men receiving increased pay, seniority rights and the recognition of the union. The "closed shop" issue remains irreconcilable. At present 90,000 bales have accumulated on the piers and • docks. Merchants and warehousemen attempted to move some of the supplies with railway goods cars.
