RECORD FLIGHT

TRIP FROM WELLINGTON LESS THAN TWO HOURS A record flight from Wellington to Auckland was made yesterday by ono of the Auckland Aero Club's machines, a Beechcraft closed-cabin biplane, piloted by Flight-Lieutenant D. M. Allan. Having been chartered by a business man, the machine left Auckland at 11.15 a.m. and arrived at Wellington at 1.40 p.m., the trip taking two hours 25 minutes. On the return journey, the aeroplane, flying at 12,000 ft. for most of the journey, lowered the record of two hours, taking one hour 50 minutes.
