LAYING DOWN OF OVA [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] KOTORUA, "Wednesday Another 500,000 trout ova were laid doAvn by tho Internal Affairs Department at tho Tokaanu hatchery this week, bringing tho total now in tho hatchery to about 900,000. Further stripping will bo carried out to-mor-row, and it is anticipated that tho first ova for tho Ngongotaha hatchery will be received next week. At tho present time the Tongariro River is reported to be very low, with the result that the trout aro still remaining out in tho deep waters of the lake in largo numbers. It is anticipated, however, that as soon as flood conditions occur there will bo a heavy run up tho river.
