AGED BETTOR'S WINNINGS
"Take care of mo; lock mo up if yon like; I've won a lot of money; I'vo been after it for years, and at last I've got it," said a man aged 70 to officers at tlio Adelaide police station recently. Ho had .0120 which ho said ho had won at the Victoria Park races in the afternoon. •
After much counting the money was put safely away by tlio sergeant until tlio next morning, when tlio man intended to call and place it in a bank. He has been in poor circumstances for many years. Besides backing a winning double he backed a number of individual winners.
